5 Affordable Makeup Dupes
Updated: Feb 14, 2021
Have you noticed how many affordable brands are coming out with products that are nearly identical to products from high end brands? Of course, a lot of luxury products also come with luxury packaging, but personally for me the packaging is just a plus when it comes to a good product. Overall, it is much more worth it to save major bucks on a product that looks, feels and acts nearly the same way as the $50 product you'll see at luxury stores! Here are some of my absolute favorite affordable makeup dupes:
1. Tarte Cosmetics Shape Tape Concealer vs.
ELF Cosmetics Hydrating Camo Concealer
$27 vs. $6
Overall, I would recommend trying both concealers depending on your budget. The Tarte Shape Tape has amazing coverage and lasts all day! But, if you're wanting to save some major bucks I highly recommend the ELF Hydrating Camo Concealer. The formula is nearly the same as the Shape Tape concealer and little goes a long way. The creasing is very minimal and the finish is beautiful! For $6, you can't beat it!
2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz vs.
NYX Cosmetics Micro Brow Pencil
$23 vs. $10
I love both of these products and I'm not going to lie, they're both amazing and virtually the same. Both of these products have the same packaging, a spoolie and a micro tip. The skinny pencil allows you to easily create brow like strokes and the spoolie is great for blending. The NYX pencil is just a tad more waxy, but over all I would say that the NYX Micro Brow is in an exact dupe for the Anastasia Brow Wiz.
3. Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer vs.
ELF Cosmetics Primer Infused Bronzer in Forever Sunkissed
$30 vs. $6
Benefit's Hoola Bronzer has been a favorite of mine for so many years. In fact, it was one of the first bronzer I ever tried! But after always spending $30 for a new bronzer, I was determined to find an affordable version of the holy grail product. So last year I came across the ELF Primer Infused Bronzer in the shade "Forever Sun-kissed." This bronzer is only $6 and I would say it is just as good as Hoola. The pigment, and coverage are both there without looking muddy or too intense. I love using this bronzer on every day makeup looks to warm up my face or even for contouring. I highly recommend this bronzer if you are looking to save some money!
4. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara vs
L'Oreal Paris Lash Paradise Mascara
$26 vs. $10
I've talked about the L'Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara before in my 8 Mascaras Under $25 post. This mascara is a great dupe for the coveted Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara! If you're wanting to save some money on mascara while achieving the same results, this would be the perfect one to try. The wand is great for a fluffy lash effect and the formula is long lasting. I highly recommend checking this one out!
5. Gerard Cosmetics Hyrdra-Matte Liquid Lipstick in 1995 vs.
$20 vs. $7
Both of these liquid lipsticks are absolutely stunning! They both have a satin matte finish, with long lasting color. But if I had to pick between the two, I would go with the NYX Lip Lingerie! The color is beautiful and I just love the finish of this liquid lipstick. For $7, you can't beat it!
Stay tuned for more makeup dupes! I will be releasing a new list every few weeks! In the mean time, check out 5 Foundations That Last All Day.
